A spontaneous visit that left a lasting impression
The journey of our Pure Stone collection begins in an extraordinary place: the quarry on the Croatian island of Brač. Here, the world-famous Brač limestone is mined – a natural material with history, character, and timeless elegance.
During our last visit to the family-run stonemasonry business, we had the opportunity to see the quarry for ourselves – an experience we won't soon forget. After a quick phone call, it was confirmed: we could enter the quarry! Half an hour later, we were in the car, driving along the island's narrow roads, accompanied by Goran and Antonija, who introduced us to their world of stone.
The drive takes only twenty minutes, and even from a distance the scenery is impressive: white expanses that cascade down the landscape in tiers. The light reflects off the stones, as if the entire surroundings are illuminated. A calm, focused, and relaxed atmosphere greets us on the site. Everyone knows everyone else here – and you can sense that a centuries-old craft tradition lives on in this work.

We are free to look around, experience the place up close, and observe how massive blocks of stone are transformed into the foundation for the finest handcrafted work. In the large halls, the cut stone slabs are already stacked, ready to leave the island and go out into the world.

What forms the basis for our bowls, candlesticks, and wine coolers today has a centuries-old tradition. The limestone from Brač is among the most renowned of its kind. Even the Romans recognized its exceptional quality: numerous important buildings in Europe were constructed from the island's white stone, including Diocletian's Palace in Split. It is even believed that Brač stone was used in the construction of the White House in Washington, D.C.
From raw material to design object
The entire production of our Pure Stone collection takes place on Brač: from the extraction of the stone to its processing in a small family workshop, just a few kilometers from the quarry. Here, the raw blocks are cut and then handcrafted into our home accessories.
Brač stone is available in various appearances: often in a homogeneous white (primarily used in construction), but also – as with our products – with striking dark veining. This particular variant is rarer, therefore more valuable, and lends a uniquely beautiful character. Each vein is unique – a natural signature of the stone that no two products bear alike. It's nature's fingerprint, so to speak.

A piece of history for your home
With the Pure Stone collection, we bring a piece of this tradition and craftsmanship into modern living spaces. Each object tells its story: from the quarry on Brač, the work of the stonemasons, and the connection between origin and modernity.
Our visits to the island show us each time how much history, experience, and passion are embodied in the craft of stonemasonry. Brač stone is far more than just a material; it's a piece of cultural heritage that we shape into a new form.
